Be a Camp Counselor this July!

China Service Ventures (CSV) and Xinyang Radio and TV Station are jointly hosting two, four-day camps (July 16-19 and July 22-25) on Jigongshan (Rooster Mountain, Henan) for 100 Left-Behind children, ages 8-15.

This new level of cooperation was just approved by the Henan Foreign NGO Registry Office of the Public Security Bureau in early May.   Camp #1 (July 16-19) Grades 3 & 4. Camp #2 (July 22-25) Grades 5 - 8. The students will come from from Longjing, Yanghe, Zhoufan, and Lijiazhai school districts.

We need 6-8 U.S. Counselors to serve for both the two camps.  Knowledge of Mandarin is helpful, but not mandatory.   Ability to cope and thrive in a cross-cultural camp setting is required.  Love and patience for children is paramount.

We hope this is the beginning of a prosperous joint venture. CSV and Xinyang Radio/TV are planning ahead for 5 weeks of international camp in 2020. 

Even if you are unable to be a counselor, please consider sponsoring a child to camp for $100.  Our goal is to send 100 Stay-Behind children to camp ($100 per student x 100 students =  $10,000. Our desire is to inspire and broaden the child's imagination and perspective through loving service and friendship.  A changed heart and mind opens the pathway to a changed destiny.
